Today, we’re beyond excited to share the news that our doors at Heima á Fitjum are now open to welcome you! Located in the small village of Vestmanna, Heima á Fitjum is an experience waiting to be unfurled, a chapter to be added to your travel diaries.
For too long, travelers like you have wandered through the breathtaking lanes of Vestmanna, surrounded by mountains, in search of a welcoming place to rest, refuel, and relish with the locals. Not just to get a quick cup of coffee, but a place where you have the opportunity to experience the culture of Vestmanna and feel the heartbeat of our community.
Heima á Fitjum was born out of a desire to offer just that – an opportunity for travelers to unwind with locals. We wanted the experience to be diverse and inclusive, for it to be possible for anyone to experience the unique home hospitality visits – Heimablídni.
This is why we start early in the morning with our Breakfast Club, so the early birds can join in and get a head start on their day, since we value the time of our guests. We have also made room for a quick Coffee Break, both for those who are short on time, on a budget, or simply would like the opportunity to visit a local! Occasionally, it is possible for you to join us for an intimate Dinner Date, where you will dine with us as a friend of the family.
And the best thing about this place is the view and unexplored backyard that is a haven for nature lovers. Imagine starting your day, with not just a local breakfast, but with a refreshing ocean dip! You read right – our Breakfast Club invites you to take a cold Atlantic dip before warming up at the breakfast table. The benefits are endless, and it is a beloved tradition amongst the locals.
As you look out from our windows, you’ll understand why we couldn’t keep this view to ourselves. We are surrounded by nature’s true gifts, with multiple birds, seals, and the occasional mountain hare as our neighbors. Our home is close to everything and nothing at the same time. Having the chance to let our kids grow up with nature as their playground is nothing less than incredible.
