Every Wednesday and weekend, you can join us for an exclusive “Catch & Cook Local” experience, where you will follow the fish to the table in the most direct way possible! Start your day with a half-day fishing trip led by the seasoned captain of Blástein. Since 2004, our captain has been guiding novices and experienced anglers alike to the best spots for catching haddock, cod, and other fish species. With all fishing gear provided, just focus on the thrill of the catch.

Following your fishing tour, Heima á Fitjum welcomes you to a unique dining experience. Your fresh catch will be prepared by locals with vegetables and potatoes, complemented by local beer. Conclude your memorable day with homemade cake and your choice of coffee or tea, all while enjoying engaging conversations and ocean views that capture the essence of Faroese hospitality.

Upon your arrival in Vestmanna, you will meet the captain at the harbour, which is conveniently located and easy to find. your captain, is a born and raised local here in Vestmanna, therefore is deeply rooted in the community, and had extensive knowledge of the local seas and a rich understanding of the area. His insights will guide you through the best fishing spots while sharing stories and local wisdom that only a true local could offer.

Once back on solid ground, you’ll be welcomed by Kristina, your dinner host, who is not only introducing you to the traditional Faroese cuisine but also deeply passionate about the myths and legends of the islands. As you enjoy your freshly caught fish, paired with vegetables and a local cold beer, you will hear tales that weave through the mystic landscapes and storied past of the Faroe Islands.
