For the First Time -Great Milestone for us

I’m so excited to share that we have been featured in a new article in Jyllands-Posten!

A Morning to Remember

Earlier this summer, I had the absolute pleasure of welcoming the loveliest Danish family to our Breakfast Club here at Heima á Fitjum. What a memorable visit it turned out to be! From the moment they arrived, there was a natural warmth and ease that filled the house. It was especially heartwarming to see how quickly the little ones settled in. Exploring our collection of toys, laughing, and playing like they’d been here a hundred times before. Meanwhile, the parents were able to slow down and enjoy a quiet moment over freshly brewed coffee and warm rolls straight from the oven.

Why Heima á Fitjum Feels Like Home — Especially for Families with Children

We’ve always said that Heima á Fitjum is a paradise for children, and every visit like this one reaffirms that it truly is. There’s something magical about watching families connect and feel at home here. Eventhough if it’s just for a few hours in the morning). We are so grateful for every family that chooses to visit us. We’re always honored to be part of their Faroese adventure, whether it’s the highlight of a trip or a spontaneous stop on a quiet morning.

A heartfelt thank you to Allan and your wonderful family for spending your morning with us. Your visit was one of many this summer that reminded me why we do what we do.

The Summer That Surpassed Our Expectations

This summer has been nothing short of incredible. So many guests have walked through our doors — strangers at first, but quickly becoming friends. Each visit brings a new story, a new connection, and a new reason to feel grateful. I’ve had the joy of sharing breakfasts, laughter, traditions, and quiet moments with people from near and far. And with bookings still coming in, it looks like we might even extend our very first season — something I hadn’t dared to dream of just a few months ago.

If you’re curious to experience the Faroese way of hospitality — what we call heimablídni — I invite you to read this lovely article that captures the spirit of it beautifully. It’s more than just opening your home; it’s about creating meaningful connections, sharing a part of your life, and welcoming others into it with warmth and sincerity.
